Everything is welcome: bicycles, clothing donations, and shoes. Voss regularly collects donations and shipments of clothing for children and adults. Everything is reused in Gambia. Household goods: utensils, bedding, and tools that make everyday household tasks easier. Also needed are children’s toys: educational items and toys that bring immense joy to the youngest members of the community.
For Voss, the emotional reward far outweighs the logistical challenges. Tobias says:
Seeing the children’s eyes light up when we hand out the toys and clothes makes every single effort worthwhile. This pure joy gives me so much happiness and motivates me to keep going…
Education, faith and sustainable energy
Voss’s humanitarian commitment extends far beyond his immediate neighborhood. Recognizing that education and culture are the cornerstones of long-term self-determination and social cohesion, he specifically supports educational institutions and religious sites. His team distributed special learning Qurans to local schools, among other things, to facilitate children’s access to education and their cultural roots.
A particular focus of Voss’s work is sustainability. Since a stable electricity supply is not a given in many parts of the country, he organized the free distribution and installation of solar panels.
This environmentally friendly technology now provides reliable and independent energy to local schools and mosques. A particularly moving highlight was a large-scale aid campaign shortly before Ramadan 2025: Just in time for the holy month of fasting, Voss equipped numerous mosques with solar lights free of charge, ensuring that the communities had safe lighting even in the evenings and during night prayers.

Furthermore, his aid missions regularly take him deep into rural villages to provide targeted support where families often have very limited financial resources.
During these visits, Voss and his team distribute essential staple foods such as large sacks of rice, cooking oil, and bags of onions.
