In the article, we show why the country is so successful in tourism. Thailand enchants with more than 1400 islands and its breathtaking nature, from tropical beaches to lush temples. The warm hospitality of the people and the delicious cuisine make every trip unforgettable. A country full of cultural treasures and spiritual tranquillity that welcomes every visitor and says goodbye with a smile. A truly wonderful destination.

Thailand: In 2024, more than 35 million tourists visited the country. Visitors to Thailand also see the country’s dynamism in the fact that they hardly recognise the country after 20 years away. The infrastructure is impressively developed and the population is very friendly.
English is still a problem in Thailand

If you want to be critical, you could mention the modest English skills of many Thais. Not much has improved since the author’s first trip to Thailand in 1996. In the little-visited north-east of Thailand, it was even extremely difficult to find a Thai with good English. What is still a big asset of the country: people are mostly friendly and polite. A big advantage, compared with the rest of the world.
The dazzling metropolis of Pattaya

… is Thailand’s, and perhaps Asia’s, most famous entertainment metropolis, located on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The whole area pulsates with vibrant nightlife while offering beautiful beaches and a growing selection of family attractions. From bustling markets to tranquil temples, Pattaya uniquely combines relaxation and entertainment. A dynamic place with many facets. The nightlife is legendary and spectacular.

Pattaya, probably the most famous entertainment city in Asia, attracts millions of visitors every year from all over the world who come to experience the infamous and exciting nightlife. The famous Walking Street pulsates after sunset with countless bars, clubs and entertainment venues.
But Pattaya offers more than just that: during the day, beaches such as Jomtien and Naklua beckon, as well as numerous attractions such as water parks and temples. The city is a dynamic mix of relaxation during the day and pulsating energy at night, making it a unique holiday destination.
Pattaya: is the metropolis also suitable for families with children?
Yes, Pattaya can definitely be suitable for families with children. Away from the well-known nightlife, the city offers numerous family-friendly attractions such as water parks (Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, Ramayana), theme parks (Mini Siam), animal experiences (Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya Sheep Farm, Underwater World) and much more.
There are also beautiful gardens (Nong Nooch). Quieter beach areas such as Jomtien, Naklua and Wong Amat are ideal for families. Many resorts offer children’s clubs and special family programmes. With the right planning, families can enjoy a varied and entertaining holiday in Pattaya.
Is Pattaya’s south coast worth a visit?
For those who want to take it a little easier. The south coast of Pattaya offers a more relaxed atmosphere and some quieter beaches compared to the centre. There are also interesting attractions and good restaurants. Those who prefer a more tranquil pace will find places worth visiting here. The cheap option of hiring a 125cc scooter for around 5 euros per day is ideal. However, there is left-hand traffic here and the hustle and bustle is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Hotel recommendation:

Sunset Serenity Jomtien Resort, nestled in the relaxed atmosphere of Jomtien Beach, promises a restful stay. The stylish accommodation offers comfort and tranquillity, often with stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand. The nearby beach is perfect for sunset strolls, while the pool area offers pure relaxation.

With its quiet location yet well connected to local amenities, the resort is ideal for travellers looking for a peaceful getaway close to the hustle and bustle of Pattaya. The warm hospitality adds to the sense of well-being. Staff is able to speak and communicate in English, what is not given in all hotels in the southern part of the Bay of Thailand.
Here a few nice images from the hotel’s garden:

The hotel garden is idyllically located and is very quiet….
